Based on professional standards from the Association for Educational and Communications and Technology (AECT):

As I went through the program, each class presented different approaches, theories and technologies to design and develope eLearning, which allowed me to reflect on my work and my own approaches. Reflection was spent on all the project examples shown.

2. Conduct a needs assessment for learning or performance interventions.
I began to conduct a needs assessment in my first courses in the program, and in the Ed Web designed specific performance interventions. A needs assessment was also conducted in the business plan too.

3. Applying theory and best practices, conduct an analysis of learner, content and context for instruction, and design activities and experiences for learning.
With this project, I was able to apply multiple theories along with an analysis of the learner. By taking the time to apply theories to my projects, I was able to develop skills that improved my eLearning.

4. Accommodate the needs of diverse learners through media and technology.
By taking a theory that spoke to me, I was able reflect and create a visual expression of that which communicates that message of the theory to multiple learners.

5. Use tools and apply message-design principles to develop products and resources to support learning and performance.
With this project i was able to take the learning and design theories and apply them to convey the learning content and messaging. Also the design document allowed me to reflect and improve on applying the theories. All of the projects shown here are based on a variety theories that I have learned.

6. Implement and evaluate effectiveness of program, products, or practices.
Part of my research paper on PowerPoint led me to implement and evaluate a change in practices for my training. I was also able to implement and evaluate Building Webroot University as well.
7. Assess student/participant learning.
When creating the Ed Web and design document, I based the assessment of learning on the objectives and goal created for the project. By basing assessments on objectives, it keeps learning focused and reflective of learning.

8. Utilize research methods to investigate a learning, organizational, or performance problem.
In almost all projects I have designed, required some sort of research methods on how to solve a training problem, in this research paper, I researched and explored how PowerPoint is an ineffective form of training and communication within our company and how using several simple changes, can improve this communication method in our company. This paper allowed me to exercise formal research methods.

9. Manage a development or related project.
(In Progress) I am currently in a course where I am developing a business plan and learning plan. This course is taking the skills I have developed to apply to a business proposal for creating a learning solution for a company.
10. Participate in a change process and provide leadership in helping people adopt new technologies or practices.
As a the single Instructional Designer for Webroot, I am always leading people in new technologies and practices. This example shows the process and development of implimenting a new learning management system for Webroot. This process allowed me to plan, reflect and organize the implementation of a new technology and process for the company.
